The main goal of the ”En Technon” Art Workshop is the complete, methodical and effective preparation of each candidate in Free and Line Drawing.
Through a personalized teaching and always keeping in mind the personality and the different artistic style of each student, the ”EnTechnon” Art Workshop prepares candidates for Schools of Architecture & ATEI.
More specifically, the preparation program includes:
In addition, the preparation program includes:
The ”EnTechnon” Art Workshop is fully equipped, for simulation and proper preparation of the exams at the Schools of Architecture & ATEI can be done.
The teaching of “Free Drawing” in the “EnTechnon” Art Workshop is mainly based on the proper learning of the visual perception of space.
The preparation of the “Line Drawing” course includes the drawing of given geometric shapes and forms and the aim is to draw with clarity and precision.
In the ”EnTechnon” Art Workshop students are received systematic and targeted teaching through an organized preparation by the teacher/painter Alexis Vlachos.
With the many years of Artistic experience, Painter Alexis Vlachos is teaching and monitoring the progress of each student, giving solutions regarding various technical and artistic problems. In this way, the students acquire all the technical abilities and skills that will help them to walk independently on their own Artistic path.
As a term, “Free Drawing” refers to the representation of a subject in pencil on paper, with a composition of objects located in the room. “Free Drawing” is carried out with “free hand”, without the help of geometrical tools.
The teaching of “Free Drawing” in the “En Technon” Art Workshop is mainly based on the proper learning of the visual perception of space. The students learn to perceive the volumes through the shapes, the lighting and the shadows in such a way that they organize and render what they see in the space on a piece of paper.
The criteria for the Entrance Examinations are specific, while the final score of each candidate is formed by the individual evaluations. The evaluations concern the size and correct placement on the design surface, the tonal gradation, the performance of the materials of the objects, the proportions of the symbols and the relationships between them in the quality of the writing, as well as in the general impression of the subject.
The organized preparation of the “Free Drawing” includes systematic study on the subject, by teaching mainly on an individual level by the teacher/painter Alexis Vlachos, but also by student’s personal practice. The teaching of “Free Drawing” takes place in the ”En Technon” Art Workshop, with a variety of topics that cover all learning levels. Beginners and advanced students are in the same room, as the coexistence of students is considered important, (especially for the beginners), since they are inspired by the work and skills of the advanced ones, while at the same time a warm climate of solidarity is created.
The required study time for a satisfactory preparation for the Entrance Exams of the “Free Drawing” depends solely on the good organization of the teaching program as well as the many years of experience of the teacher/painter Alexis Vlachos, so as to achieve the goal of a successful performance.
The course of “Linear Design” is one of the special Admission courses, both in schools of Higher Educational Institutions (such as Schools of Architecture), and in schools of Higher Educational Institutions, which concerns the departments of: Decoration, Graphic Design, Conservation of Works of Art, and Antiquities and Graphic arts.
The “Linear Drawing” course aims to familiarize each student with the plan, section and elevation design process, the so-called correct projections. The preparation of the “Line Drawing” course includes the drawing of given geometric shapes and forms and the aim is to draw with clarity and precision.
In the ”En Technon” Art Workshop the student, through systematic and targeted teaching, is first asked to learn to draw simple geometric shapes, gradually to use the drawing tools, while more abstract concepts are gradually introduced, such as those of scale and rendering of space in a geometric way (plan, section, elevation, axonometric). The understanding of straight and axonometric projections, as well as correct and qualitative drawing are the main axes of the course.
By completing the “Linear Design” program at the ”En Techon” Art Workshop, students have developed the perception of the concept of “space”, with a scientific approach, thus developing their design skills.
